Traffic reports for February 2014 are coming in thick and fast with airports across different continents reporting surges in passenger numbers.
In Europe, London Gatwick handled 2.3 million, up 7.7% on the same month in 2013, while Frankfurt Airport welcomed 3.7 million, an increase of 1.8%.
Glasgow Airport saw nearly 450,000 passengers, an increase of 6% on the same period last year, and fellow Scottish gateway, Edinburgh Airport, saw an increase of 7.8% for February, with a total of 607,723.
Istanbul Antalya Airport, recorded 646,947 travellers, up 3.1%. while in Bulgaria, Varna Airport and Burgas Airport handled 27,852 passengers between them, a rise of 7.2%, and in Russia, passengers to St Petersburg-Pulkovo Airport, rose by 17.3%.
In China, Xi'an Xianyang International Airport saw a surge of 7.4% to 752,701, while in Peru, Lima Airport handled 1.2 milllion passengers, an increase of 3.7%.
In Denmark, Copenhagen Airport welcomed 1.6 million passengers in February, a 3.9% rise on the same period last year.
