The landscape along the eastern corridor at Tulsa International Airport will soon be changing as construction crews work to prepare for building of the first structure in the airport’s Mingo Development Area.

A 42,000 square foot industrial manufacturing facility is being built on an 8.5 acre site located across the street from American Airlines’ Maintenance and Engineering Center and Spirit AeroSystems on Mingo Road and 36th Street North.

The facility will include dock high and drive in loading and will offer two bays with 20-tonne crane capacity.

Tulsa International Airport is leasing the land for the facility to Industrial Developers of Oklahoma, who has engaged the services of CBRE to secure a tenant.

Airports director, Jeff Mulder, is eager to see the project underway: “There are definite synergies to be realised by developing property across the street from Tulsa’s largest employment complex.

“This project is laying the foundation for future development along this corridor that will ultimately support the efficiency and productivity of all area businesses.”

The Mingo Development Area encompasses 136 acres with prime access to airport tenants, air and ground logistics operators, and three major highways.

The area development plan contemplates a mixed use of the property for office, warehouse, and industrial purposes.

In addition to the Mingo Development Area, Tulsa International Airport is actively pursuing the development of targeted properties within their 4,711 acre complex.
