Azul announces, this Thursday (26), a historic expansion in Minas Gerais. In partnership with the local government, the company has just announced flights departing from Belo Horizonte (BH Airport) to Curaçao, in the Caribbean, Fort Lauderdale and Orlando, in the United States, in addition to regional connections with the Minas Gerais cities of Araxá, Divinópolis and Sao Joao del Rei. The announcement was made this morning in the state capital, at a meeting between Fábio Campos, director of Institutional and Airport Relations at Azul, with Romeu Zema, governor of Minas Gerais, Herlichy Bastos, director of Operations and Infrastructure at BH Airport, and Andre Rojer, Latin America Manager for Curaçao.

According to the company, BH Airport – the only international airport in the state – will have a weekly Azul flight to Curaçao and three weekly flights to Fort Lauderdale in the first half of 2023, as well as daily connections from the capital of Minas Gerais to Araxá and from Campinas to Divinópolis. In the second half, Azul will also offer two weekly flights from BH Airport to Orlando and two weekly flights to São João del Rei, a historic city with colonial architecture located just 11 km from the internationally known Tiradentes.

The start dates for ticket sales and the opening days of the new international and regional operations will be announced shortly by Azul.
