McDonald's opens unit at BH Airport

This establishment is located in the Domestic Departures lounge and there is also a dessert kiosk in the lobby, at the exit of Arrivals 2

The request from passengers and the airport community was answered and BH Airport has just opened McDonald’s. Located inside the domestic departure lounge, close to gate 24, the restaurant will have a capacity for 103 people and will also have a dessert kiosk in the public area of the terminal, close to the Arrivals 2 exit, with access to the general public.

With the unit, Arcos Dorados, the largest independent McDonald’s franchise in the world, opens its 63rd restaurant in Minas Gerais. The airport receives the unit in one of its best moments: it is considered a connection hub and is the third airport with the largest number of domestic destinations in Brazil.

“This inauguration meets our goal of offering the best airport experience to everyone who passes through BH Airport. We work to provide increasingly more comfort and convenience to passengers and visitors, and that includes attracting internationally renowned brands. In addition, we value the social aspect of this inauguration, since the arrival of McDonald’s at the airport contributes to the generation of jobs and opportunities in the region”, emphasizes Lucas Malachias, Commercial Manager at BH Airport.

The new unit is in line with the brand’s new concept, with a more modern, connected and technological space and visual identity, with four double self-service totems, in addition to a digital menu board. Already common in some units spread across Brazil, the kitchen is on another floor and the sandwiches are transported by a conveyor belt from one location to another.

With the opening of the unit, around 60 new direct job openings were generated, covering residents of neighboring cities. Fifty vacancies are for young people in their first job. The company’s focus on employability is focused on giving young people access to a gateway to the professional universe. In Brazil, 62% of the chain’s employees are under 24 years of age and many are in their first professional experience, which consolidates McDonald’s as a great job generator for young people in the country.
