New aircraft will carry out low cost flights between Belo Horizonte and Santiago

Sky Airline’s larger and more sustainable model will serve BH Airport passengers from June

From June onwards, BH Airport will receive a new direct and regular flight route to Santiago (Chile). To meet the great demand, the airline SKY Airline announced the replacement of the equipment originally planned for this route. Instead of the Airbus A320neo, which has capacity for 186 passengers, the company will use the modern A321neo, a more spacious and efficient aircraft. With 238 seats in a single class, passengers will enjoy greater comfort during the journey.

The direct flight will depart from BH Airport three times a week from June 15th, with an estimated duration of four hours. This change represents a significant reduction in travel time compared to connecting flights. The estimate is that the new route will transport more than 27 thousand people per year between Belo Horizonte and Santiago, strengthening ties between the two cities and meeting the growing demand for international flights.

The inauguration of this route and the use of an aircraft with more seats and more modern is a clear indication that demand for the flight is strong”, said Clayton Begido, Connectivity and Aviation manager.

Training of the tourist trade

BH Aiport and Sky Airline, in partnership with the Government of Minas, Belotur and the Municipal Department of Culture, held on 26/02 training for travel agents and tour operators on the new direct international flight between Belo Horizonte and Santiago.

During the event, professionals received detailed information about the new route, the destination of Chile and how the capital of Minas Gerais has established itself as a prominent tourist destination on the continent, stimulating commerce, strategic partnerships and the promotion of local attractions, such as culture, events technical-scientific, gastronomy and entertainment.
