Lithuanian Airports Gears Up for New Terminal Launch and Premises Redevelopment: Seeking Catering Service Providers to Enhance Passenger Experience

Lithuanian Airports have announced an international lease tender aimed at attracting professional catering service operator of various formats to operate at Vilnius Airport. The future partner will operate both in the new departures terminal, scheduled to commence operations in February 2025, and in other terminal locations at the capital’s airport. The lease competition includes six locations for operator which is managing various concepts and brands.

The leased area in this competition covers over 1,000 square meters of commercial space at Vilnius Airport. Based on the designated location in the airport terminal and analysis of passenger needs, the formats of catering services provided will vary, ranging from international fast food restaurants, coffee bars, or bakeries to beer restaurants or healthy products.

According to Gintarė Norvilaitė-Tautevičienė, Head of the Commercial Department of Lithuanian Airports, this competition reflects the significant change awaiting passengers at Vilnius Airport as early as the beginning of next year.

“In early 2025, the new departures terminal will be launched. This is a highly anticipated symbolic and strategic change for the entire organization, so we must prepare to ensure that our passengers can find suitable catering services, choosing from a wide range. An important emphasis is that we are putting a lot of effort into attracting the attention of international companies in this and future competitions,” said the Head of the Commercial Department of Lithuanian Airports.

According to the head, it is also important to emphasize that the current spaces at Vilnius Airport will be reorganized after the launch of the new departure terminal – there will be significantly more places for various commercial services.
