Passenger Terminal Expo

Company Passenger Terminal Expo
Date 10.02.2015

Michael Eggenschwiler, chief executive officer, Hamburg Airport, presented at last year’s Passenger Terminal Conference on how to keep the customer in mind despite the increased adoption of self-service technology.

This year, Michael is returning to the conference, presenting a paper entitled “Changing customer demands and increasing traffic while infrastructure is limited” on Wednesday 11 March, as part of the dedicated Design, Planning & Development session.

"In 2014 Hamburg Airport experienced strong passenger growth of approximately 8%, and this growth is expected to continue," he comments. "This is leading to new challenges for the airport as its infrastructure for expansion is limited and customer demands are increasing. Hence my presentation will focus on how infrastructure and processes can be optimised. Furthermore, it will be demonstrated how the different customer (airlines, passengers, tenants) needs are addressed by the airport to react to new demands. This will include an example of a new passenger handling infrastructure that is currently being implemented at Hamburg Airport."

Another major European airport will present immediately after Michael's speech: "Creating unique passenger experiences, the Schiphol way," will be delivered by Mr Gerard Geurtjens, Director A Pier & Terminal – Schiphol Group. With leading airports from around the world sharing insights from their latest programs across the the full three days of the conference, attendees can be assured of access to the industry's most innovative thinking.
